The process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers' mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme.

The Atticism

The Lawns

Digital describes electronic technology that generates, stores, and processes data in terms of two states: positive and non-positive. Positive is expressed or represented by the number.

The Lawns

Print is produce (books, newspapers, etc.), especially in large quantities, by a mechanical process involving the transfer of text or designs to paper.

It is my great pleasure to provide a reference for Kelly Shield whom has worked with me now for the past two years as a contracted Graphic Designer. During this time Kelly has proved herself to be an invaluable asset to the Circular Team.

I found Kelly to be a loyal, delightful, dedicated and passionate designer whom was never afraid of going above and beyond what was expected from her, quite often working long ardours hours to ensure both our clients and my expectations were met.

Kelly comes to the table with extensive array of design skills and practical experience in branding typography, web based and digital design, pre-press and print production.

We worked in a unique creative studio environment and Kelly’s ability to collaborate is to be admired. Kelly is reliable, efficient, technically competent, and has an excellent rapport with people of all ages.

On many occasions Kelly took the reigns of whole projects, dealing directly with my clients and quite often managing the entirety of the project with little assistance from me. Her experience, passion, enthusiasm and pro-active attitude made this an easy decision.

It’s been a pleasure to work with Kelly I have no hesitation in recommending her as she will be an asset to any company lucky enough to have her.

Please feel free to get in touch with me for further information should you wish.

Michael Dragovic

Creative Director/Owner

Responsive, approachable and ferociously driven in getting projects over the line.

We needed a new wine list for our Surry Hills Bar / Restaurant and Kelly produced excellent ideas and was excellent in actioning them. Whilst we went back and forth multiple times (mainly because of our pedantic ways) Kelly remained focussed and a pleasure to work with.

We’re now using Kelly for multiple other projects we have on the go.

Rob Sloan

Co-Owner Of Dead Ringer & Bulletin Place

Kelly Shield graphic design is second to none. She’s been able to adapt to a diverse set of projects I’ve given her and has made a solid impact to help my agency and my clients stand out from the rest. She’s fast, reliable and affordable. Would recommend to anyone.

From one designer to another, working with Kelly has been a relief. She has a strong knowledge of design and has a great way of understanding briefs across both print and web projects I’ve worked with her on. I can say that she is a designer with meticulous attention to detail and has excellent communication skills.

Leila Kheiv

Kelly has been working as an intern within our studio for a period of 6 months. During that time she has assisted us in a variety of tasks including typesetting, style guide documentation, image re-production, finished art and various other graphic designrelated tasks.

In all areas Kelly has exceeded our expectations. She is quick to learn, focused and shows real potential as a graphic designer. She also takes direction without question, and has shown a genuine interest in learning as much as possible from the various people in our studio.

Her technical skills are very good, and she has a sound knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

I would recommend anyone looking for a junior designer to consider Kelly for that role. Were our studio looking to fill a junior designer role I would not hesitate to offer her a position.

If you would like any more information, or would like to discuss any aspect of this referral, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Creative Director/Owner

I am writing to express my support and recommendation for Kelly Shield and her graphic design and branding services.

I began to work with Kelly over a year ago when I needed a new image for my PR agency. In this highly competitive industry, it is important to stand out – but with the style of agency I own, I also wanted to be low key and subtle. Kelly understood my direction and created a logo and image for me that I loved – first attempt.

Since then, I have recommended Kelly to countless firms and agencies and use her for all of the graphic design work that might come up for my clients.

I would recommend Kelly for second to none service, attention to  detail and availability. Kelly works hard, and the results are manifested in this effort.

I’m currently working with Kelly to develop the brand for a new restaurant that I’m launching and I’m glad I found her. Kelly has done a stellar job understanding our objectives and has made sure that our values and vision are reflected in the branding. She is super patient, responsive and very professional. She’s also a pleasure to work with!

Chester Garcia

Co-Owner The Lawns & Workshop

Triumph Leisure Solutions recently engaged Kelly Shield to design a proposal document and pitch presentation for a large scale event. I was very impressed with Kelly’s ability to take our draft document, apply design principles and turn it into an aesthetically pleasing document that delivered all key information in a logical format.
The nature of the document we were putting together resulted in a large number of changes, and an ever-changing scope of work. Kelly took all of this in her stride, remained contactable for the entire duration of the project and worked throughout the night to ensure our presentation and document was ready on time. Working with Kelly was an enjoyable process and I appreciated her humour and adaptable nature during a high-pressure project.

Megan Peters

Operations Manager

I am pleased to confirm that Kelly worked with us on a three month internship in the Communications & Fundraising department here at Wesley Mission.
Kelly was in the Corporate Marketing team that I manage and worked on a number of helpful projects during this time. She not only showed the initiative and dedication to volunteer for the unpaid position in the first place, but was punctual and reliable throughout her internship.
Specific projects included an overhaul of our corporate merchandise, in which she sourced some impactful new ideas, involvement with a corporate thanksgiving service which included Kelly volunteering her time on a Sunday, and input into the design of a commemorative book for our Wesley Vision Valley conference centre.
Kelly’s experience in the retail hospitality space was also invaluable in planning a possible new corporate café offering.
Kelly is full of energy, with a larger than life personality, and relates easily to a wide range of people. She is a ready source of new ideas, and has a natural problem-solving capacity, often thinking outside the box for workable solutions.
I can commend Kelly to you if you’re looking for a vibrant personality to provide a resourceful problem-solver for your team.

Kelly Shield Is A
Graphic Designer,
Ex Hospitality Manager
& Problem Solver,
Who Never Sits Still.

Kelly Shield is an international award-winning Graphic Designer & Philanthropist with a mind for contemporary, minimalist design & a taste for dry jokes & gin. She specialises in brand identity, creative direction, print & digital design.

With a background including 11 years in hospitality – a testing exercise that can only be attributed to the maddest of us – her qualifications as a Chef & Restaurant Manager have enriched her penchant for forging design that has function.

Kelly’s mindset meets at the crossroads of simplicity & thought-provocation to which she owes some of her most powerful career-defining moments including her involvement in a Guiness World Record winning campaign for Wesley Mission & the founding of DISH Cookbook – A Starlight Foundation fundraising initiative.

A question that is often asked in the industry is what makes great design? The answer is several cups of coffee & a good serving of wits. That’s not a joke. But some other good indications are internationally recognised industry awards, & Kelly has 6 from 2017 alone including taking out the Brand Identity Category for the Communication Arts Typography Awards & Type Directors Club NYC Awards. As such her client base is vast & varied, both locally & internationally.

Kelly doesn’t cut corners, rather she cuts out the crap. This ethos is echoed in her design aesthetic – clean lines, elegant typography & use of space make for her personal brand of stripped-back design.
